Technology of Communication with AV equipment
Possible connection scheme:
Supported ways of data transfer:
- TCP/IP
- UDP
- HTTP (GET, POST)

Supported data formats:
- ASCII (sending strings)
- HEX (sending HEX symbols)
- DEC (sending decimal numbers)
- BIN (sending data in the binary format)
Data import and manual setup:
- data base of IR commands for Global Cache built-in iRidium GUI Editor
- ready drivers for some AV equipment (available for downloading from the web site)
- ready JS modules (a driver + graphics) for some AV equipment
- forming the list of commands manually
Control via the Internet:
- when connecting to the equipment via the TCP/IP or HTTP protocols, the dynamic switching from the local connection to work via the Internet is possible
- when connecting to the equipment via the UDP or RS232 protocols, control via the Internet is possible but iRidium Gate is required
Feedback:
- There is no processor of ingoing data in the AV & Custom Systems driver by default. For receiving feedback you should use ready script drivers for particular equipment.
- Besides, iRidium script enables user to create rules for processing data received from equipment themselves.
Required hardware:
set up network equipment for IP-connection between control panels and AV equipment
a set up Wi-Fi router or wireless access point for connecting wireless control panels
optional: access to the Internet for remote control (when using the public IP-address or domain name)
optional: format converter (TCP to RS232, TCP to IR) for remote control of the equipment via IR and RS232. For exmple, the Global Cache converter. 
optional: Windows XP/7/8 based PC for setting up iRidium Gate, if you need to control the equipment via RS232
Required software:
- iRidium Environment (iRidium Transfer, iRidium App, iRidium GUI Editor, etc.) for uploading visualization projects on the control panels - for free
Supported control panels:
Apple iOS v.6 based devices and later: iPad (all generations except 1), iPhone (3GS and later generations), iPod touch (4th generation and later)
Windows 7/8 based devices: personal computers, all-in-one PCs, tablet computers
Android v.2.3 based devices and later: smartphones and tablets (SD-card is required)
OS X v.10.5 Leopard based devices and later: Mac Mini, iMac, MacPro, MacBook
Number of simultaneously connected control panels:
- when connecting directly (control panel > AV equipment), the number of control panels depends on equipment capabilities and transport protocol you use
- when connecting via iRidium Gate, you can connect up to 52 control panels to the AV equipment
Control of AV together with other automation systems:
- You can control AV equipment and any other iRidium supported automation system in one project.
Licensing:
- Device License Pro - enables one panel to control any AV device and receive feedback from scipt modules
- Trial License (Free) - enables one panel to control any AV device and receive feedback from script modules, it is valid for 30 days
