What can iRidium do in AV sphere? – To answer this question, we described 3 sample AV projects on iRidium. So, we’ll show:
A home cinema usually has a plasma or LCD TV, a DVD player, a satellite receiver, an AV receiver, an acoustic system.
In the classical solution a user controls this system from 3-4 IR remotes, each of which controls one device only. It is not convenient. As, if a home cinema is equipped with remote control of blinds, light, conditioners; a customer has to deal with not 3, but 6 remotes.
With time remotes turn into a big problem. They get lost and out of order. It’s quite hard and pricy to replace them, for one thing. And for another, a heap of IR remotes on a coffee table doesn’t do justice to any AV project.
iRidium-based control of a home cinema looks quite different. A user from an interface on a smart phone or tablet can turn on/off the TV set, adjust the picture; choose a channel or a film to watch, and, of course, adjust the volume and quality of sound.

How is a meeting room used? – To make a report, to show a presentation and to have a discussion.
How does it work in a classical solution? Before a report one has to do the following: roll down the screen, turn on a projector and monitors, close the blinds, turn off the light, switch on the speaker’s mike and mute all others.
As you see, one report requires a prolonged step by step preparation of a conference-hall or a meeting room. More than that, during a discussion a chair-person or a technician has to switch on and mute mikes of all those present.

Classrooms are numerous; and a traditional solution works perfectly here. In a classroom one typically wants to connect a teacher’s PC and a projector. Difficulties with a classical solution appear, if there is a long distance between a projector and a PC, as to lay wires in a ready classroom is troublesome, long and expensive.
iRidium-based control of a classroom solves this difficulty. A user can control a projector and other necessary AV equipment from a teacher’s PC, no matter how far they are from each other. No need to lay wires across the whole classroom. All you have to do is to connect a projector and Global Caché iTach-WF2IR via cat5 and place the adapter next to the projector.
